Graphic Design Intern Wanted

Job Description:

  • Provide graphic design development and execution for print and online marketing strategies, such as exhibition postcards, fliers, print/online advertisements, program invitations (print and online), program handouts, posters, signage, social media etc.
  • Research and facilitate printing/production quotes with vendors and suppliers.
  • Assist with coordinating and facilitating social media strategy (Facebook, Twitter, etc)
  • Assist with day-to-day office operations


  • 15 – 20 hrs/week (preferably at least 2 full days)
  • Desired start date: ASAP
  • Desired duration of internship: 6 months (through mid-May 2013)
  • This is an unpaid internship for a non-profit arts organization.
  • Compensation will include: training and applied practice in a non-profit arts service organization, as well as a free CAC membership for one year, and the opportunity to network with the Chicago arts community.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, PowerPoint, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Strong creative sensibility, able to communicate and implement design vision
  • Ability to work in a team and successfully incorporate art direction and feedback
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivating, problem solver
  • Punctual, courteous, and responsible

The mission of the Chicago Artists’ Coalition is to educate the public on the value of art in society while providing support, advocacy and professional development to artists in our community and improving artists’ living and working conditions.CAC welcomes artists who practice all visual media, including: painting,photography, sculpture, works on paper, installation, conceptual, film and video. CAC also encourages multidisciplinary projects. If artists from dance, theater, music or literary disciplines would like to work with the visual art community, CAC can help with those connections.
